Drawing the Urban Landscape. Places, Spaces and Models. The Porta ai Pinti Cemetery

From 13 to 20 May the documentation of the Porta ai Pinti Cemetery, known as "English Cemetery", in Florence

Registrations are now open to participate in the international workshop dedicated to the study, drawing and documentation of the urban cemetery landscape. The workshop, open to students from all degree courses, is promoted by the University of Florence in cooperation with Gdańsk Tech University in Poland, and will see the participation of students and professors from the two universities. Highly specialized research laboratories will provide equipment and expertise to develop field activities aimed at documenting and narrating the Porta ai Pinti cemetery in Florence. Through drawing, surveying and the production of two-dimensional drawings and 3D models, the aim is the knowledge and visual narration of the spatial configuration of the cemetery and its relationship with the city, of the burial monuments and decorative apparatus, as well as of the personalities and stories preserved in this place.
